Sen. Graham on using the Bible during a swearing-in ceremony:
The Raw Story | GOP Senator 'glad' Muslim Rep. will swear allegiance to Koran: "Graham told Stephanopoulos, 'Why would you swear allegiance to a document outside your faith? In our legal system, people can take the oath in a variety of ways. Religious diversity is a strength, not a weakness in this country. We need immigration reform, but not for the reasons that Mr. Goode cited. What would happen in this country if a Christian were elected in Lebanon and he had to swear allegiance to the Koran when it came time for them to take office? There'd be an outcry in this country. So I embrace religious diversity. I welcome this new member of Congress. I'm glad he's swearing allegiance to a document that is consistent with his faith.'"

First off, you aren't swearing allegiance to a document. You are swearing allegiance to your country on the Bible. We recognize a greater law in this country and its not the Koran. So, does swearing allegiance to the US on the Koran mean that he is going to act like others who "swear allegiance" (using Graham's wording) to the Koran? So, Mr. Graham, we have religious diversity in this country and now we have moral diversity, too.... thanks...

So, I haven't posted to this and I had taken it off of the page. No more of that. This election proved that something is wrong with people in this country: they don't remember what happens when you put Democrats in power. This country in the next 2 years will turn into the liberal stench that it was under the Clinton administration. Bush had better get that veto stamp out.

I'm not saying that Republican's deserve control anymore. They didn't or couldn't get anything done while they were in control. Come ON guys. Implement change.

I was talking with a group of guys from my Tuesday Bible study and they were pointing out the lack of difference between the Republican's and Democrat's. The thing is that I remember Hillary stating after Kerry lost that the Democratic party must make themselves look like the Republicans. Attention Republicans.... when that happens, you can't remain centristic you must move right. So, though the talking heads say you will see a more centrist GOP, I say, we can't move more to the center. MOVE RIGHT. Move to where you should be.

In other news, South Carolina as a state proved that we are still GOP country. Even if most of the races were close, we are still GOP country. I wish that I could have been there to see Govenor Sanford's speach.

I think we have one saving note... there is a sovereign God. Though He may allow suffering (Dem control of the House), He will cause things to work out to His glory. He is victorious. He is unbeaten. He cannot be beaten. My prayer is that He wouldn't allow to much suffering.

God save our country from liberal thinking and the immorality that comes with it.

US News Article | Reuters.com: "In another exchange, Rep. Christopher Shays, a Connecticut Republican, pressed witness Dyan French to explain why she believed the New Orleans' levees had been bombed.

French, a community leader who opened her home to help storm victims, responded that she heard two loud booms right before the floodwaters overwhelmed her neighborhood."

Yeah lady, sure, the white rednecks bombed the levies and then came to take you away from the city. And George Bush has a secret hurricane machine in the oval office.... riiiiiiiiiight.

My Way News: "'I take responsibility for my vote, and I, along with a majority of Americans, expect the president and his administration to take responsibility for the false assurances, faulty evidence and mismanagement of the war,' the New York senator said in a lengthy letter to thousands of people who have written her about the war."

Hillary, dear, you had the same access to all of the information as the President didn't you? Why would you have voted to go to war if you yourself weren't completely sold on the idea. The President didn't sell this war to you. He didn't have to because the world's intelligence community had been saying this for so long that even your husband claimed to believe it during his presidency. Oh, but this is politics isn't it...

In light of this article, I cannot in good conscience support the nomination of Samuel Alito for Associate Supreme Court Justice. Try again Mr. President.

There is something considerably different about normal hospice patients dying and the death sentence that has been placed on Terri Schiavo.

First as a home health nurse who has referred numerous people to hospice... Terri Schiavo does not meet the criteria for hospice placement... the main criteria that must be met is that you must have a diagnosis that is an end of life diagnosis and have, by medical opinion, less than 6 months left to live. Terri has been in her current state for 15 years. So needless to say she does not have an end of life diagnosis and the only way to justify that she has less than 6 months to live is based on her "husband's" wishes for her to die. So now that we have cleared up that basic rules are being overlooked... let me continue...

Patients are admitted to hospice for palliative care. This means that they are admitted to have nurses make life more comfortable for them in the last days. They are usually patients that are requiring pain medication for cancer or other painful illnesses. This is the main focus of hospice; to help make patients more comfortable and at peace as their time comes to an end.

Considering this main goal, hospice nurses would never agree to with hold food or water and cause patients increased discomfort and pain as they starve to death. This is what Terri Schiavo is now experiencing.
Another key feature of Hospice is that it does not exist to speed up the dying process in anyway or to intervene in the process... Patients must be willing to no longer seek treatments or cures for illnesses such as hospitalization or therapy to be admitted to hospice. However if a patient has a feeding tube they can live for years on hospice if they are not dying and the hospice facility will never intervene to discontinue food. Why?? Because food and water is not considered a treatment or a cure. It is considered a basic life need.

In The Northwest: Teresa Heinz Kerry hasn't lost her outspoken way: "'Two brothers own 80 percent of the machines used in the United States,' Heinz Kerry said. She identified both as 'hard-right' Republicans. She argued that it is 'very easy to hack into the mother machines.'"

Really, easy to hack into the mother machines, eh. Lets see you try it Ter-eeza. Face it lady... you aren't the first lady, nor do you lack the wherewithall to be the first lady.

The New York Times > Washington > Some Democrats Believe the Party Should Get Religion: "they and some other theologically orthodox supporters of Mr. Bush say it may not take much for Democrats to make inroads among their constituency, if the party demonstrates a greater friendliness to religious beliefs and even modestly softens its support for abortion rights. "

So, the Dems are going to switch from persecution of religion to state support of religion? This won't do away with leaders like Bush. Bush appealed to the "religious right" from the inside. Democrats must do it from the outside. Those that they speak of in the term "religious right" hold to the belief that there is a strict separation of right and wrong.

"Our platform and the grass-roots strength of the party is pro-choice," said Elizabeth Cavendish, interim president of Naral Pro-Choice America. The party needs more religious language, Ms. Cavendish said, but not new positions."

Even if you speak the same language, you still don't get anywhere if your message is the diametric opposite of what we believe.

"Democrats need to make the case that health care, jobs and sex education can reduce the number of abortion procedures, even without making them illegal, Ms. DeLauro said."

By the way, just thought that I'd mention the fact that abortion isn't the reason Bush was re-elected. We trust him. We believe he thinks in terms which you cannot and will not understand: Right vs. Wrong. Arguing with a conservative that the ethically wrong thing to do is the right thing is like arguing with a liberal that the ethically right thing to do is the right thing. Those are both things that liberals will never understand, mostly because they both involve ethics and moral judgments.

It comes down to one philosophical issue. Liberal Democrats do not believe that there is an absolute truth. What is right for one person may not be right for another. Sorry, there is an absolute truth. There is a right answer to everything even though the answer may not be known. And to say that there is no such thing as truth (reminiscent of X-files) cannot be accepted even if the Libs put it into religious speak for Lurch (Kerry) and his cronies to mouth.

Backing Bush has won you nothing, Chirac tells Britain Hey Chirac, remember that war back in the 20th century? I think it was called World War II when we saved you from occupation/inihilation... Did it ever occur to you that maybe your entanglements in Iraq's old regime may be causing your vision of the world to be a bit lop-sided? There is a drastic difference between America and France as we see it portrayed by you. There is decency here. Morals still make the man. We care about relationships. Oh, and America will stand up for what is right regardless of how big the other dog is!! Remember D-day!?!

CBS Apologizes for Interrupting CSI; Will Rebroadcast Episode: "'An overly aggressive CBS News producer jumped the gun with a report that should have been offered to local stations for their late news. We sincerely regret the error. The episode of CSI: NEW YORK will be rebroadcast Friday, Nov. 12.'"

Not sure how to feel about this one... I almost regret the fact that the news of the death of one of the worlds formost terrorists wouldn't make a special report that interupted entertainment.
ABC News: Some Say U.S. No Longer Feels Like Home: "'We were leaving anyhow, mostly because we want to start a family and we don't feel our children can get a decent education in the United States,' said Brian Sinicki, of Laramie, Wyo."

Really, thought of private school, or maybe indoctrinating your children yourself?

"Like Sinicki, Dowling didn't start thinking about moving abroad last week, but she said her concern was more about the role Bush's religious beliefs seem to play in his governing, and the role of religion in American society — what she called 'aggressive Christianity.'
'There is this aggressive morality that seems to me to have nothing to do with Christianity,' she said. 'Our fathers were mostly Unitarians, not at all holy rollers.'"

Actually, "our" fathers that came over on the Mayflower were more like Presbyterians.
